I have been practicing midwifery since 1997, when I received my certification from the Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing in Kentucky. I worked for many years as a labor and delivery nurse at a teaching institution prior to becoming a midwife, and successfully co-founded an independent nurse-midwifery practice in Ohio in 2002. Prior to my midwifery education, I was on the transplant team at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation and had the privilege of seeing the miracle of saving lives. But women's health was my calling and I pride myself in offering women choices in their health care. I am a strong advocate for women having options and participation in their healthcare and in helping them reach their optimal health.

I recently co-authored "9 Months In ~ 9 Months Out," a resource guide throughout pregnancy and through the first  9 months of a mother's postpartum period. In my free time, I love to blog, connect on Twitter and LinkedIn and love to dance and travel! I have a very supportive husband, two wonderful sons, and "Bear," our 6 year old German Shepherd.
